New Zealand’s Villa Maria Estate is delighted to be supporting the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) inaugural ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ event in Los Angeles on July 9. Villa Maria wines will be served to attendees at this glitzy black-tie event.
BAFTA’s President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the inaugural event as part of their upcoming visit to California, helping highlight the quality and talent currently emerging in the film, television and video games industries in Britain. ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch in partnership with Audi’ will be supported by leading film, television and video game companies who will host tables at this black-tie affair and invite leading U.S. figures in the moving image industries to join them. The forty-two BAFTA-chosen ‘Brits to Watch’ will join these tables for dinner to make potentially the most important introductions of their careers. The sumptuous dinner will be perfectly accompanied by Villa Maria Estate Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon. Sir George Fistonich, the owner of Villa Maria Estate, said, “We are very pleased to be involved in this historical new initiative from BAFTA that brings British talent to the attention of the world-famous U.S. moving image industry. We are thrilled to have our Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon chosen for guests to enjoy at the event.” BAFTA will announce the names of those attending prior to the event. Examples of their work will be showcased throughout the evening and distributed to the attendees afterwards. Profits from the event taking place on Saturday, July 9, at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles will be used to promote and support emerging British talent in Los Angeles through future events, scholarships and mentoring initiatives.
