Tormaresca Launches Two New Wines in U.S. Market
In Southern Italy’s historic Puglia region, winemaking has been a vital part of life for over 3,000 years. Tormaresca is leading Puglia’s modern wine renaissance, creating wines of exceptional depth and character from indigenous grape varieties. Tormaresca is currently releasing two new wines in key markets in the U.S. – the 2010 Roycello Fiano and the 2008 Trentangeli, an Aglianico blend.
These two wines are arriving on shelves now in major markets such as New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston.
The 2010 Tormaresca Roycello Fiano Salento IGT is made from 100% Fiano from Tormaresca’s Masseria Maìme estate. Fresh and flavorful with great acidity, this wine shows the signature floral notes of Fiano mingled with hints of stone fruit. (Suggested retail price $22)
The 2008 Tormaresca Trentangeli Rosso Castel del Monte DOC is a blend of 65% Aglianico, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah produced at the Bocca di Lupo winery. Made in a modern style, this Aglianico-based wine offers intense red fruit and spice flavors on the palate. The wine is well-balanced with round tannins. (Suggested retail price $24)
Tormaresca Background:
The Antinori family built Tormaresca in 1998 with the goal of creating wines that would be the finest expression of Apulian viticulture. By investing in the region, the family hopes to reacquaint the world with the quality, integrity and consistency of the wines of Puglia, emphasizing the strength of the grape varieties that grow naturally there. Blending technological innovation with centuries-old vinification techniques, Tormaresca is leading the winemaking renaissance in Puglia.
