Chateau Ste. Michelle Named as Wine & Spirits “Wineries of the Year” for the 17th time!

Woodinville, Wash.

Wine & Spirits Magazine named Chateau Ste. Michelle as one of its “Wineries of the Year” for the 17th time in its annual Buying Guide, making it the most honored American winery in the magazine’s “Hall of Fame.”

Only one other winery (Penfolds) has received more “Wineries of the Year” awards with 21 honors.

The magazine credits Chateau Ste. Michelle's quality winemaking and value with why it is considered one of the top wineries in the world.

"With all of the economic uncertainty of the past summer and the volatile markets of the fall, it was good to be reminded in 2011 that, in this country, Chateau Ste. Michelle remains one of the wine world's great bastions of quality for price, full stop." - P.J.C.

The article highlighted Chateau Ste. Michelle's top scoring wines including the Chateau Ste. Michelle 2007 Columbia Valley Merlot with 93 points, Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with 93 points and the 2009 Eroica Riesling with 92 points.

Chateau Ste. Michelle recieved Wine & Spirits "Wineries of the Year" honors for '88, '89, '90, '97, '99, '00, '02, '03, '04, '05, '06, '07, '08, '09, '10, '11. '12.

In 2011, Wine & Spirits panels and critics tasted 10,600 wines to select the 100 Wineries of the Year.
