Chateau Ste. Michelle and Erath Wineries Partner with Northwest Restaurants to Support Future Grape Growers and Winemakers of Oregon and Washington

"Raise A Glass, Fund A Scholarship" Program Runs Through December

Washington's founding winery Chateau Ste. Michelle, and Erath, one of Oregon’s pioneering wineries, are partnering with Oregon and Washington restaurants to support the fifth annual "Raise a Glass, Fund a Scholarship" program to benefit Viticulture and Enology programs at Washington State University, Oregon State University and other Northwest universities. Nearly 200 restaurants are participating in the "Raise A Glass, Fund a Scholarship" program which runs now through the end of December 2012.

"We are extremely proud that our local Northwest restaurant community has helped us raise $200,000 over four years to support the future growers and winemakers of the Pacific Northwest," says Ste. Michelle Wine Estates President Ted Baseler. “These local Viticulture and Enology programs are critical for the Washington and Oregon wine industry to continue to produce world-class, internationally renowned wines."

Erath and Chateau Ste. Michelle will donate $3 per case sold to participating restaurants (up to $50,000) to help fund the Viticulture and Enology programs at Oregon State University, Washington State University, and affiliated community colleges throughout the Northwest. The money raised together will fund scholarships, research, faculty and equipment.

By December 2012, with the help of nearly 300 restaurants, the “Raise Your Glass, Fund A Scholarship” will have raised $250,000 since the program launched in 2008.

Thank you to the supporters of this year's program.
