Rinuccio 1180 Opens at the Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Cellar
The Antinori Family has opened its latest restaurant, Rinuccio 1180, at the Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Cellar in Tuscany. Rinuccio 1180 is named after Rinuccio di Antinori who, in 1180, was the first recorded Antinori family member to make wine. His namesake restaurant pays homage to the beginning of the Antinori wine legacy.
Chef Matteo Gambi is the head chef at Rinuccio 1180. He was hand-picked from his post at Osteria di Passignano, a Michelin-starred restaurant that was co-founded by Allegra Antinori and is home to the Antinori’s Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva. Chef Gambi has an excellent culinary background that includes working at various five-star luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants.
Using his culinary expertise and experience, Chef Matteo Gambi curated a tasteful menu for Rinuccio 1180, which highlights traditional dishes and products from the Chianti region. Sample menu items include a variety of cured meats and cheeses, a selection of salads including Panzanella salad (a Florentine salad of bread and tomatoes), fresh pastas and soups, a range of grilled meats, fresh vegetables, decadent desserts, espresso and tea. A selection of Antinori wines will also be available.
Rinuccio 1180 is an excellent option for a quick lunch or snack when touring the property but also offers more substantial dishes for a sit-down meal. After 7 p.m. Rinuccio 1180 can accommodate private parties, between 40 and 80 people, with a selection of dishes (and wine pairing options) from the special tasting menu.
The restaurant, which can seat 60-100 people daily (depending on the season) will be open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended; for groups of 20 or more a reservation is required.
The Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Cellar is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission into the facility is 20 Euro (roughly $27 USD) and tickets can be purchased onsite or in advance via the website.
