O Wines Founder Stacy Lill Earns Puget Sound Business Journal 2013 Women of Influence Award
Woodinville, Wash.
O Wines Founder Stacy Lill was recently named a Puget Sound Business Journal 2013 Women of Influence Award nominee.
Now in its 10th year, the Business Journal’s Women of Influence awards program spotlights local business women, community leaders and philanthropists who are a force in the region. The Women of Influence Award honors women within the business community who: have the authority and power to move the needle in their business; are respected for accomplishments within their industries; give back to the community; and are sought out as respected advisors and mentors within their field of influence.
This year more than 195 nominations were received.
Stacy Lill co-founded O Wines in 2006 with a mission to fund scholarships and help young women improve their lives through education. In 2012, she sold O Wines to Ste. Michelle Wine Estates to help grow the brand nationally and raise even more money for student scholarships. She continues to serve as brand ambassador to raise awareness of the Opportunity for Success Scholarship. To date O Wines has raised $175,000 and funded more than 53 student scholarships. Most of the scholarship recipients were the first members of their families to attend college.
“I feel giving back to the community is extremely important which is why I created O Wines,” says Lill. “Providing educational scholarships to deserving young women who would not have otherwise had the opportunity to go to college is making generational and systemic changes in our community. Given the chance, these young women will grow to be strong positive contributors to our society. My current scholarship students are amazing and they inspire me daily to continue the work I am doing.”
Stacy has an extensive history of philanthropy and giving back to the community in addition to her 25-year career as a marketing professional and wine industry consultant. She has received many honors including the Cystic Fibrosis Breath of Life Award, Women’s University Club Business Woman of the Year, Soroptimist Award for Outstanding Community Service, Seattle Magazine’s Community Service Award and the 2012 Women for Wine Sense National Rising Star Award. She serves on the boards of Cystic Fibrosis Leadership Council, Washington State University Campaign for Wine, and the Board of Governors for Seattle’s World Trade Center.
Lill and the other 16 honorees will be honored at the 2013 Women of Influence Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Click here to view the complete list of honorees and event information.
