Tormaresca Vino e Cucina Opens in Puglia, Italy

New Wine Bistro Serves Coastal Comfort Food and Tormaresca Wines

(Lecce, Puglia) Tormaresca, one of Puglia’s leading wine producers, officially opened its namesake restaurant, Tormaresca Vino e Cucina (located at via Benedetto Cairoli, 25 in Lecce) on June 16th. The new bistro – which includes an extensive list of expertly produced Tormaresca and Antinori wines – is a casual, social dine-in experience featuring Italian comfort staples native to the region.

The menu at Tormaresca Vino e Cucina showcases simple, delicious dishes made exclusively with local ingredients unique to the restaurant’s proximity to the ocean —including a fresh selection of fish and mussels – as well as an assortment seasonal vegetables and traditional Apulian bread. Guests can dine inside in the main dining area, pick up light snacks and aperitifs at the bar, or enjoy a charming evening outdoors in the patio space.

The wine list features the Tormaresca lineup of red wines from native varietals (Aglianico, Negroamaro, Primitivo) and refreshing whites and Rosé, along with a selection of still and sparkling wines from the Marchesi Antinori portfolio.

The interior of the restaurant was conceptualized by designer Saverio Innocenti, who was inspired by his surroundings to create an authentic Lecce aesthetic. He sourced all of the fixtures in the 80-seat restaurant from local artisans, including traditional stoneware, known as Pietra Leccese, Majolica earthenware from Salento, and handmade lamps, chairs, seats, tables, and shelves.

Tormaresca – an exceptional winery outpost from the Florentine Antinori winemaking family – is one of the main producers putting a spotlight on the Puglia area, a region that has been crafting wines for over 3,000 years with native grapes such as Negroamaro and Primitivo. Tormaresca’s estates include Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in Castel del Monte and Masserie Maìme in Salento, the latter just a 20-minute drive to the Tormaresca Vino e Cucina restaurant in Lecce.
