14 Hands Winery Introduces Buttery Chardonnay and Sweet Red Blend
PATERSON, Wash.
Washington’s second largest wine brand, 14 Hands, is debuting two new flavorful wines to its lineup; a Buttery Chardonnay and Sweet Red Blend. Available now, the Buttery Chardonnay has a suggested retail price of $14.99 and the Sweet Red Blend of $11.99. Both wines are available at select grocery retail stores nationwide.
Sourced from Washington State’s Columbia Valley vineyards, the 14 Hands 2022 Buttery Chardonnay is lush, bold and buttery with subtle notes of apple and pear for a soft finish. The 2022 Sweet Red Blend is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with decadent flavors of sweet black cherry and ripe berry that sit atop a plush mouthfeel.
“The new 14 Hands Buttery Chardonnay is a fun and different take on our traditional Chardonnay. It’s a lush and creamy wine that shows more oak impact,” said Zach Richardson, 14 Hands Winemaker. “And while red blends are nothing new to 14 Hands, we decided to change it up with our new Sweet Red Blend. It’s a great entry into red wine – as it has the structure of a red but with a natural sweetness to make it approachable to new wine drinkers. Both wines will pair well with a variety of foods. Try the Buttery Chardonnay with seafood or Brie and crackers, and the Sweet Red Blend with pulled pork and a rich and tangy barbeque sauce!”
“Since launching with three restaurant-only wines in 2005, 14 Hands has continued to listen to consumers to bring them exciting, enjoyable wines that fit into their lifestyle,” says Phillip Cleveland, Brand Director, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates. “With the Buttery Chardonnay category’s continued growth and the sweet red category’s strong appeal to new wine drinkers, the addition of these two new items complement our portfolio of bold, approachable wines.”
About 14 Hands Winery
14 Hands Winery is inspired by the untamed spirit of the wild horses that once freely roamed eastern Washington, measuring a modest fourteen hands in height (a “hand” equivalent to the width of one’s palm). The loamy sand and gravel soils of the Columbia Valley require a strong and determined grapevine, and our vineyards revel this world-class terroir. With the fruit from these hardy vines, we handcraft big, fruit-forward reds and crisp, juicy whites. Like the untamed horses we honor with our name, our wild and wonderful wines pack a lot of character into each bottle. Learn more at www.14Hands.com.
