10 Out of 10 Erath Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs Garner 90+ Ratings
Dundee, Ore.
In 2006, Erath winery crafted 10 single vineyard Pinot Noirs, all of which have received ratings of 90 points or higher from the wine industry’s top publications including the Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast.
Each vintage, winemaker Gary Horner only crafts single vineyard Pinot Noirs from fruit that meets his discerning criteria. The single-vineyard Pinot Noirs highlight the distinctive characteristics of their respective growing sites. The 2006 vintage started with a favorable, mild and dry spring resulted in an exceptional fruit set, and weather conditions remained advantageous through the summer and fall into harvest. Horner believed the vintage provided fruit that would allow him to highlight the distinctive characteristics of 10 vineyards in six AVAs throughout Oregon.
These accolades validate that winemaking at Erath remains focused on bringing out the best characteristics of the vineyard and Oregon Pinot Noir. Horner’s philosophy is to craft high quality wines that are fruit forward in style and reflect the Oregon vintage, soil and grapes.
"I am thrilled with the scores our single vineyard wines have received," said Horner. "Sourcing from a diverse range of vineyard sites in Oregon allows me to craft wines of distinction. I am committed to making the best Pinot Noir this region has to offer – it’s time-honored, authentic and uniquely Oregon."
