Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen Launch Ground Breaking Aged Eroica Riesling Program

Woodinville, WA

Among Old World Riesling producers of Europe, Riesling is renowned for its capacity to age beautifully for decades. For centuries, aged Rieslings have been the benchmark of quality. This spring, Eroica, a partnership between Chateau Ste. Michelle of Washington and Dr. Loosen estate of the Mosel, will be among the first American Riesling producers to offer aged vintages for the U.S. marketplace when it re-releases its 2007 Eroica Riesling, which has been cellared for an additional five years of bottle age and 2001 Eroica Single Berry Select ten years post-vintage. Starting in March, Eroica (Chateau Ste. Michelle) will re-release a limited quantity of 2007 Eroica Riesling to restaurants in select markets across the country, including New York, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland and Northern and Southern California.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Named Number One Most Admired Wine Brand in the U.S. by Drinks International

Top American Winery Ranking Marks Chateau Ste. Michelle's Third Prestigious Honor this Fall

Drinks International magazine recently announced the "World's Most Admired Wine Brands," a comprehensive industry poll of the world's best regarded wine, and Washington's Chateau Ste. Michelle earned the #13 spot, the highest ranking for an American winery. This honor comes on the heels of Chateau Ste. Michelle winning "Washington's Most Respected Brand" in the Puget Sound Business Journal's "Battle of the Brands" poll in August, in which the winery beat out distinguished Washington organizations like Starbucks, Microsoft, Nordstrom and REI in an online poll. In addition, in October Chateau Ste. Michelle was named as one of Wine & Spirits magazine's "Wineries of the Year" for the 17th time, more than any other American winery.

Wine & Spirits Magazine named Chateau Ste. Michelle as one of its “Wineries of the Year” for the 17th time in its annual Buying Guide, making it the most honored American winery in the magazine’s “Hall of Fame.”

Only one other winery (Penfolds) has received more “Wineries of the Year” awards with 21 honors.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Promotes Raymon McKee to Red Winemaker

Woodinville, Wash.

Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington state's founding winery, recently named Raymon McKee as its Red Winemaker. McKee joined Chateau Ste. Michelle in May 2008 as its Assistant Red Winemaker. He will report to head winemaker Bob Bertheau and manage day to day operations at Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Canoe Ridge Estate red winery near Paterson, Washington. Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the few premium wineries in the world with two winemaking operations, one devoted to whites in Woodinville, Washington (15 miles northeast of Seattle), and another customized to the production of red wines in eastern Washington, overlooking the Columbia River.
