Live Auction Lot Sold for $120K

At the August 18th Auction of Washington Wines Gala, the Col Solare live auction lot made history – selling for $120,000. The “Discover the Roots of Col Solare Deep in the Vineyards of Antinori’s Tuscany,” sold twice for $60,000, helping to raise critical funds for uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Washington State University’s viticulture and enology programs.

The final round of the inaugural Antinori Sommelier Challenge, presented by Sommelier Journal, will take place at Bar Boulud on August 21 at 6:30 pm in New York City. Nelson Daquip, wine director and sommelier at Seattle’s Canlis Restaurant, will compete against Brahm Callahan, wine director at Boston’s Grill 23 & Bar, for the grand prize of a cash award and a trip to Austria sponsored by Austrian Wine.
